XSites Desktop, featuring Collaborator
Visitors to your website are hot leads. But if they don’t fill out a lead capture form, they’re lost forever. Not anymore. Our XSites Desktop Collaborator plug-in now allows you to interact with your website visitors in real time, share files, and capture contact information automatically. And for a limited time, you can get Collaborator free with your Standard level XSite.
Here’s how it works: First, download and install XSites Desktop (if you haven’t done that yet, you can get it here). XSites Desktop is a wonderful little tool that sits active in your system tray (that’s what they call that little area with all the tiny icons over by your clock – see the lower right corner of your screen).
Once that’s installed, it will automatically check for updates – be sure to let those install. When a visitor comes to your XSite, a window will pop up right above your clock telling you someone is on your site.
When you click that window or open XSites Desktop, it will even tell you what page they’re viewing and their approximate location. That’s based on IP Address – which is geek-speak for the unique set of numbers identifying every computer, much like a mailing address, but less specific. It’s not always 100% accurate, but it’s usually pretty close, and gives you a good idea whether your visitor is local, out-of-state, or even international.
But Collaborator’s features don’t stop there. If you’d like, you can even place a chat graphic on your website. If you’re online, your visitors can click that graphic to open a message window where they can send you an instant message. The message will pop up in your XSite Desktop, and you can reply back instantly and continue to chat. You can even initiate chat, for instance, if you notice someone spending a particularly long time on a given listing. I’d encourage you to use this feature sparingly, as some might find that approach somewhat intrusive.
Since many website visitors can be hesitant to fill out a lead capture form for more info, this option gives them a middle-ground. They can communicate, but they aren’t forced to provide their information up-front.
Of course, if you’re offline, it’ll let them know you’re not available at the moment, will take their information, and will send it to you to get back to them. All that information is collected and added to your XSite Contact Manager automatically.
But Collaborator does far more than notify you instantly of site visitors, allowing you to engage them with real-time chat. When you’re connected with them you can share files and direct them to other pages on your site. Imagine, for instance, a visitor is looking at a page about home equity loans, but was expressing to you, through Chat, that they’re looking to do a series of improvements over that next couple of years. You could instantly direct them to another content page you have that describes HELOC products.
While you’re chatting with them, you can click a button in your chat window causing their chat window to display a small form where they can fill out their name and contact information. Not only does your chat window display their contact info, it is automatically added to your contact database - ready for automatic XSellerate marketing campaigns.
Finally, you can use Collaborator to collaborate with tens of thousands of originators, REALTORs®, and appraisers on the XSites Network, or in your office. Every conversation you have through Collaborator is encrypted and secure, including any files you transfer between colleagues. Yes, Collaborator is fully compliant with the GLB act.
